CIA San Juan Cable on DRE Contacts With Cuban Underground Communications Channel, 1962

The cable itself explains that DRE stands for Directorio Revolucionario Estudiantil, a prominent Cuban exile student organization with a longstanding relationship to the CIA (identified in the cable by its cryptonym KUBARK).

A communications channel DRE had reportedly established with contacts inside Cuba, said to be capable of transmitting messages and, on at least one occasion, a unit of small arms.
